2. HOW I GET THE INFORMATION AND WHY I STORE IT.
Most of the information I receive comes from you (the customer) via telephone calls, text messages, emails, social media sites e.g., Facebook, Instagram or through the enquiry form on my website or when I meet you for the first time. I can also receive information about you from others e.g., friends, parents, relatives or carers enquiring about booking driving lessons on your behalf, this will normally be limited to your name and contact details.
I collect information from you for several reasons:
a) To be able to provide you with driving lessons and services tailored to suit your individual needs
b) To be able to make you aware of the terms and conditions of your contract with Freedom Automatic Driving School.
c) To maintain my accounts and records.
d) To comply with any legal requirements.
DATA COLLECTING/SHARING/TRANSFERRING TO OR FROM OTHER SOURCES.
I will always respect your privacy; your information will never be shared without your consent unless required by law.
a) I will (with your permission) obtain your driving licence details digitally from the Driver and vehicle licensing agency (DVLA).
This is to verify that you are licensed to drive.
b) I will share some of your details e.g., Name, address, date of birth, driving licence number, email address and contact telephone number with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) when booking your driving theory test.
I will (with your permission) receive your theory booking details by email and forward them to you.
c) I will share some of your details (see above) with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) when booking your practical driving test.
I will (with your permission) receive your test booking details. After your practical test, I will receive your results by email from the DVSA, I will forward both to you.
I can assure you that and any party mentioned above (DVLA, DVSA) with access to your information has implemented the necessary security and privacy measures to ensure that your data is kept secure and confidential.
Dashcams may be used to enhance your training experience. The data and footage captured may be used as evidence of an insurance claim or police investigation.
MARKETING.
Upon passing your practical driving test, only with your permission, your photograph may be taken and placed on Freedom Automatic Driving School’s website and other social media sites for marketing purposes.
I may also provide you with details of any products or services which I feel relevant to your learning.
I have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your data being lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way.
I will only request/hold your information that is necessary for me to provide my service to you and satisfy and legal, accounting, reporting obligations.
I will only retain your data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes I collected it for, including satisfying any legal, accounting or reporting obligations (maximum 7 years is required for tax purposes).
YOUR RIGHTS.
You have the right to:
a) Request a copy of the information I hold about you.
b) To ask me to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate.
c) ask me to complete information you think is incomplete.
d) Request to have your information deleted where it is no longer necessary to retain your information for legal purposes.
QUERIES/REQUESTS/CONCERNS.
If you request any information, I will need to request specific information, I will need to verify your identity, this is a security measure to prevent your data being shared unlawfully.
